Safe Boreas

Safe Boreas is a highly advanced and efficient DP3 semi-submersible ASV. With beds for 450 persons, in single man cabins, the vessel is designed for worldwide operations in the harshest offshore environments.

Safe Boreas was built at Jurong Shipyard, Singapore, to the GVA 3000E design and is equipped with a DP3 system and 12-point wire mooring arrangement providing maximum cost efficiency and flexibility.

Delivered in 2015, the vessel is built to comply with stringent Norwegian and UK regulations. The accommodation block incorporates two atriums that provide natural light to the central cabins, mess room and recreational areas.

With a large deck area of more than 1000m² and two 50 tonne cranes the Safe Boreas provides excellent maintenance and construction support capabilities.

On 29 May 2015, Safe Boreas was granted an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA). This allowed the vessel to perform its maiden contract on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) supporting Lundin Petroleum during hook-up and commissioning activities at the Edvard Grieg facility.
